Community Workshops

Woman's Support Program: Next Generation Scholars provides wrap-around social services for students and their families. This summer, we have created and implemented a support program geared towards helping working Latina mothers with their everyday needs and concerns. Building off of a support group model, the program helps isolated mothers meet and connect with other women in their community with similar struggles and triumphs. The program serves not only the Spanish speaking mothers who have students in Next Generation Scholars, but Latina mothers from the local community as well.

Next Generation Scholars provides a wide variety of workshops for groups across the Bay Area. Topics include:

- Creating a college bound culture in your home.
- How to access college opportunity
- College access for young men of color
- College access for the undocumented
- College choices for new immigrants
- Financial aid basics
- FAFSA and CSS profile from top to bottom
- College access for LGBT students and their families
- The personal essay
- How navigate the college admissions process
- College Access for Asian Americans

All workshops can be given bi-lingually in Spanish or Vietnamese. Please contact us, if you wish to have Next Generation Scholars give a presentation in your community.
